Recently named the “Top Texas Winery” in one of the award in one of the largest wine competitions in the world, East Texas' Kiepersol will serve its winning wines at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in March.
Vineyards and wineries began dotting the Upper East Side of Texas more than a decade ago and it didn’t take long for their crops to yield award-winning wines. With wines as good as these, it’s not surprising that fine dining soon made its way into each of these locations.
Los Pinos Ranch Vineyards in Pittsburg started 2016 off with new accolades. LPRV was awarded a total of nine awards at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition and the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo International Wine Competition.
Rolling hills lined with climbing grapevines in perfect rows surround a historic Victorian-style white two-story mansion with wraparound porches. In the shadows sits a massive wine works restaurant and event center rising from the hill. It’s a scene one might imagine in Europe, but it’s right here in the Upper East Side of Texas in the form of Tara Vineyard & Winery near Athens.
