Twenty-eight cities in the Upper East Side of Texas are among 84 officially recognized Texas Main Street destinations for 2013.

Lake Country Playhouse has moved its production of “Almost, Maine” up a week earlier, to open on September 7, after canceling its planned summer musical “1776.”

After Annie Ray opened her Brewhaha coffee shop on the edge of downtown Mineola in the Henry Hotel building, she started looking for some nightlife. She found her own, and is now – on most Friday and Saturday nights – part of the growing music scene in the Upper East Side of Texas.
