This is a safe, fun event for the whole family, and a secure opportunity for kids to trick or treat in the heart of downtown. Hundreds of kids and their families come out in an assortment of costumes to partake in this 2-hour event.
Local businesses and organizations set up and compete for best trunk (or table), decorating their tables and handing out treats. Judges award prizes for the best trunk and Brookshire's provides gift cards and other prizes to the top three winners in each age category of a costume contest.
In 2014 the Rains County Historical Society and Women's Service Group worked together to add even more fun to the event by hosting a Monster Bash at Heritage Park following Trunk or Treat. It has now become an annual event, hosting games, movies, a haunted house and yummy treats at the Heritagel Park to raise funds for the host organizations.
