Get Back to Rock ‘n’ Roll’s Roots with Crockett Show

Published:

Bill Haley Jr. and The Comets are rocking their way to Crockett, Texas. They will take the stage Saturday, April 2, at 7:30 p.m. at the Crockett Civic Center.

This high-energy five-piece combo will perform a rousing, crowd-pleasing set of songs first recorded at the dawn of rock 'n' roll in the early and mid 1950s. This "Rock 'N' Roll History Show" features Bill Haley Jr. and the legendary tune “(We're Gonna) Rock Around the Clock," which became a number one record in July 1955 and signaled the birth of rock 'n' roll.

The band will take you back to the 1950s, not just with the big hits that people know like “Shake, Rattle and Roll” and “See you Later, Alligator,” but also some of the earlier music. Be prepared to jump, jive, clap, stomp your feet and sing along as Bill Haley Jr. and his Comets rock the house.

Reserved seats are on sale now. Tickets start at $22 and are available online at http://www.pwfaa.org or by calling the Piney Woods Fine Arts Association office at 936-544-4276 Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The civic center is located at 1100 Edmiston Drive, Crockett.
