What's the Status of the East Texas Oil Field?

Register by April 25 for the Ninth Annual East Texas Energy Symposium. The East Texas Oil Museum on the Kilgore College campus will host the event set for May 1 at the Charles Devall Student Center building, 726 Nolen Avenue, Kilgore.

The symposium is an annual meeting hosted by TC Technologies, East Texas Oil Museum and Kilgore College. The meeting is specifically designed for discussion and updates relative to the East Texas Field.  It began in the early 2000s and the East Texas Producers and Royalty Owners sponsored the event, which is now sponsored by a group of companies who have interests in the East Texas Field. Proceeds from this event benefit the East Texas Oil Museum.

Louie Gohmert, United States Congressman, will open the symposium at 10 a.m., followed by William Ambrose with the Bureau of Economic Geology and Phil Thompson with Mobius Risk Group, sharing information on topics in the energy field. Lunch will be served at 11:45 a.m. with Drew Darby, Texas State Representative and Chair of the Energy Resource Committee, as our keynote speaker.

A complimentary tour of the museum will be given at 9 a.m. for symposium attendees.

“We are very excited with the program we have assembled this year and hope attendees will find it informative across many of your business disciplines,” says Merlyn Holmes, director of East Texas Oil Museum.

“In attending the symposium, participants are obtaining quality operational information while contributing to the East Texas Oil Museum’s mission to demonstrate the critical role the oil and gas industry provides to the conveniences our modern society enjoys.”

Tickets are $50 each and registration deadline is April 25.
