Kasey Lansdale Tour Hits Ben Wheeler January 23
Nacogdoches native Kasey Lansdale performs an all-ages show at The Forge Bistro in Ben Wheeler on January 23, starting at 7 p.m.
Lansdale, a country blues artist, starts her “Restless Roadtrip” tour in January. Already an accomplished songwriter and author, her music features in the new films "Cold in July," starring award-winning actor Michael C. Hall from the Showtime hit series "Dexter," which is slated for a fall 2014 release; and in "Christmas with the Dead," where she made her first big screen debut portraying Ella, the protagonist's wife. Lansdale’s performance will feature songs off her recently released album, "Restless," which was produced by John Carter Cash (son of the late Johnny Cash) in the Cash Cabin Studio. Released in August of 2013, the album features 11 tracks that showcase her smoky Tanya Tucker-esque twang in self-penned songs like "Sorry Ain’t Enough" and "Blame You For Trying."
“As a vocalist, she walks the line between traditional and contemporary sounds throughout, with the passion oozing out of tracks such as 'Blame You For Trying' and 'Just Another Day' being a great example of the former," music writer Chuck Dauphin recently stated about the album in Music News Nashville.
The "Restless Roadtrip" national tour serves as a follow-up to her debut studio album with stops ranging from coast to coast and new dates being added regularly.
