Musical Extravaganza to Benefit Big Sandy Museum

The musical variety show "The Magic of Music!" — coming to East Texas Saturday, February 27 — will be fun for the whole family, says organizer Ellis Stewart of Big Sandy.

This annual concert to benefit the Big Sandy Museum will feature a fast-moving mix of music with something for everyone.

Stewart, along with co-producer Charles Penney, also of Big Sandy, said the concert will honor the music of regional entertainers including Ray Price of Perryville, Johnny Mathis of Gilmer, Glen Campbell of Delight, Arkansas, and Elvis Presley and Jim Reeves of the Gladewater and Henderson areas.

"Don't miss this outstanding event that will feature several young talented artists," he said. "Treat your whole family and invite your friends to a great program of professional-quality entertainment.”

The concert will feature a variety of East Texas performers: Marty Yale, Neil Crane, Ken Spradlin, Mary Beth Philp, Luke Short, Shannon Lucas, Jimmy Stewart, Dixon Cartwright, Buzz Payne, Amanda Forrestier, Hunter Crawford, Bennie Pentecost, and Carl and Nathadis Lucas.

It all happens Saturday, February 27, at 7 p.m. at the auditorium at Church of God Big Sandy, Highway 80 West.

Tickets—sold in advance and at the door--will be $10 for adults, $5 for students; children 6 and younger are free. For group tickets or more information, visit Austin Bank or First National Bank in Big Sandy, or contact Mary Lingle or Melody Payne at 903-636-4344.
