Emory To Host Nighttime Event


Emory's first annual Glowing in the Night event, featuring a 5K and family fun run, takes place June 13 in front of the Rains County Courthouse.

The city of Emory hosts its first annual Glowing in the Night on June 13, featuring a glow race.

Pre-race activities start at 5 p.m. with contests, a face and body glow art booth, food and products for purchase to help complete the "glow" look.

Racers must sign up by 5:45 p.m. Line-up is at 6 p.m. and the 5K race starts at the Rains County Courthouse at 6:15 p.m.

At 7:30 p.m., the event features a Zumba warmup, free glow throws and the 5K race awards presentation. The Family Glow Run starts at 8:15 p.m. It is followed by an "After Glow" party from 8-10:30 p.m.

Registration deadline is June 11 at the city offices at 329 North Texas Street or online at www.glowemory.com.
