Randy Rogers In Concert April 3 At Music City Texas
Country music songwriter and recording artist Randy Rogers performs April 3 at Music City Texas in Linden.
Randy Rogers plays an acoustic show at Music City Texas in Linden on April 3. The country star is flying solo to promote “Hold My Beer,” recorded with fellow Texas artist Wade Bowen. The record is due for release April 20.
Rogers, whose father was a Baptist minister and mother was a teacher’s aide, comes from a musical family. His father played guitar and his grandmother taught him to play the piano when he was 6 years old. By age 11, the youngster had taught himself to play guitar and began writing songs.
He settled in San Marcos, formed a band and has released six studio records, three live albums, spinning off 15 singles, including the 2014 song “Satellite.” The band filmed the tune’s official video on the runway at the Sulphur Springs airport and in a local neighborhood.
Rogers shared writing credits with Radney Foster on the 2004 album, “Rollercoaster,” which Foster produced. Rogers co-wrote Kenny Chesney’s 2005 hit, “Somebody Take Me Home.”
