The Executive Director of the Texas Transit Association (TTA), Meredith Greene, visited ETCOG offices recently to honor ETCOG's Senior Field Operations Manager for GoBus, Nina Mayhan, with the TTA Outstanding Customer Service Award for 2017.

The Texas Transit Association supports the needs of Texas public transportation systems through statewide advocacy and education, and each year issues state awards for their member transit providers. The recipient of the Outstanding Customer Service Award must promote positive relations and contributions to their community.

Nina Mayhan has been a part of the public transit service industry for well over 20 years and is well known by all GoBus customers.  "I have had the pleasure of working with Ms. Mayhan for over 9 years now, said ETCOG's Assistant Executive Director, Brandy Brannon.  "What I have seen in my experience with her is what I would call a true passion for public transportation and a servant's heart for the people we serve.  Ms. Mayhan has been an integral part of the growth of our GoBus rural transportation service allowing us to serve even more of the population in our 14-county area.  In addition, she was part of the team responsible for developing the brand for our GoBus transportation service making it one of the most recognizable services in the East Texas area."

ETCOG's Director of Transportation, Jim Camp, was thrilled to have Nina honored by TTA and helped keep the award presentation a surprise. "Working with Nina is a pure pleasure and her passion for our employees and our customers is exemplary in the industry. She is a role model of servant leadership and exceeding customer expectations. This award recognizes her continued commitment of providing outstanding customer service to both external (our customers) and internal (our employees) customers."
