Neal McCoy Added to Van Zandt County Benefit Concert
Neal McCoy is scheduled to perform at 3 p.m. at the Van Zandt County Twister Relief Concert this Sunday, May 28, at the Pickin' Porch Park in Ben Wheeler.
Four people died and more than 50 were injured in what officials say were nine tornados that ravaged the area April 29. Hundreds of homes, businesses, and properties were destroyed.
In addition to McCoy, the Van Zandt County Twister Relief Concert features a long list of talented musicians who are stepping forward to donate their time to the cause. Confirmed performers include Jeff Allen, Wesley Pruitt Band, Will Burgin, Clay Thrash, Austin Layne, Two Gun Hattie, Kadie Lynn, Heather Little, Slow Moving Snakes, Meredith Crawford, Buddy and the Flashbacks, Diamondback TX, Chase McClanahan, Huser Brothers, Tommy Joe Wilson, Chip Murrey, Jake Pyeatt, Jessica & Shane Smith, TuTu Jones, Chant Duplantier, Shane Rendon, Stephanie Guck, Mariah Keltner, Luke LaPrade, Brad Green, blacktopGYPSY, and a surprise guest or two.
Gates open at noon and a full day of music goes on until about midnight. Guests are welcome to bring lawn chairs and small coolers. Food trucks and other refreshments are available on site and Moore’s Store and The Forge Bar & Grill are open next to the park.
Admission is free with a suggested donation of $20 per person at the gate. All proceeds are going to the Van Zandt County Tornado Relief Fund managed by First State Bank of Ben Wheeler and go directly to the victims.
