Surf's Up in Crockett
Almost Endless Summer — a Beach Boys tribute band — is the first concert of the Piney Woods Fine Arts Association's (PWFAA) Summer Lightnin’ Concert Series. Taking place at 8 p.m. Thursday, June 1, the concert is free and at the JB and Kathryn Sallas Amphitheater next to the Houston County Museum Railroad Depot located at 303 South 1st Street in Crockett. Guests are invited to this family-friendly event to dance under the summers stars, bring chairs and blankets, coolers, and picnic baskets. Concessions are available also for purchse.
Organizers invite the public to come early to visit the Houston County Museum and see the artifacts and exhibits that showcase the history of Houston County.
Almost Endless Summer captures the essence of the 60s California Beach scene with band members Danny Kristensen, Bobby Fossier, Richard Morant, and John Mckay.
The Summer Lightnin’ Concert Series is sponsored by Coca-Cola with funding in part by Texas Commission on the Arts. PWFAA presents the series in association with KIVY/KMVL, KTRE, Houston County Courier, The Messenger, Texas Farm and Home & TLC.
