Rains County Library Readies Hoffman Fabric Doll Show

You won’t believe your eyes when viewing this collection of handmade fabric dolls. The unique fabrics, the artistic precision, and the choices of colors and subjects all combine to make the Hoffman Fabrics National Doll Trunk Show a “must see.”

The collection is on display November 30 through December 12 at the Meadows Cultural Center Gallery at the Rains County Public Library, Emory, TX.

The exhibit features 15 cloth dolls created for the National Hoffman Fabric Challenge. Three are award winners. The exhibit has been enjoyed by the public through quilt shows, textile shows, museums and libraries across the U.S.

The dolls range from 12 to 20 inches high. Every doll is dressed in an exquisite and even exotic handmade outfit created by one of the contestants. At least one of the pieces of clothing on each doll must come from Hoffman’s 2015 Pomegranate Gold Collect.

The library is at 150 Doris Briggs Parkway in Emory. Hours are Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The doll show is also open during the Rains Christmas on the Square event. The exhibit is free.
