Fun Catch and Release Event to Benefit CASA for Kids

Published:

Community teams have been “Caught Doing Good for Kids” and will be “reeled” into the CASA for Kids of East Texas office.

It's a fun fundraiser set for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, September 14.

To get off the hook, each "caught" team will have to raise tax deductible donations to help abused and neglected children of Smith, Wood and Van Zandt counties. They must reach out to their friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, etc. with social media posts, emails, texts and phone calls, all while competing for prizes and trophies, enjoying networking and refreshments in the “tank," located at the CASA office, 3728 Southpark Drive, Tyler, Texas..

Participating teams include employees from the Tyler Police Department, Tyler Fire Department, Southside Bank, Patient Care Logistics Solutions, Greater Tyler Area Realtors, and Van Zandt County/Canton Newspapers.

A separate component of the event includes schools collecting “Coins for Kids.”  Participating schools include All Saints Episcopal School, Tyler Classical Academy, Chapel Hill Junior High School, Grand Saline Middle School and High School, and Canton Junior High School. “Coins for Kids” launches September 14 and runs through September 28.

Tax-deductible donations can be made online at www.casaforkidsofet.org/donate. Donations can also be dropped off at CASA.

CASA is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to support abused and neglected children in Smith, Van Zandt and Wood counties by providing court appointed trained community volunteers who advocate for loving, safe and permanent outcomes.  Funds will make a difference for CASA, enabling us to recruit, train and support the volunteers who support abused and neglected children in our community.
