The Upper East Side of Texas is rich in American Indian history and much of its predominant cultural influence comes from customs and traditions passed down from European-American and African-American pioneers. It's the home of Texas Country Music Hall of Fame, the Birthplace of Boogie Woogie, and many successful entertainers got their start in the region including Miranda Lambert, Kacey Musgraves, Neal McCoy, Lee Ann Womack, Don Henley, Ray Price, Johnny Mathis, Jim Reeves and many others including world acclaimed pianist Van Cliburn. Other successful East Texans include Matthew McConaughey, Jamie Foxx, Forest Whitaker, Sissy Spacek and Lady Bird Johnson to name just a few.
