Emory Blooms at Scarbrough Haven is scheduled for 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. April 6-7 at 2769 County Road 3160, Emory. The public is invited to spend a relaxing day on 65 acres of wooded lakefront property studded with art, blooming trees and flowers, unique buildings, and plenty of locations for photo opportunities. It is a place to unplug from electronics and connect with nature. This year, there is a new event venue and outdoor chapel.
This is a walking tour on over 40 acres. There is not a set path to walk, and people are free to walk where they please. Some of the paths are paved and others are not, so comfortable shoes that can get muddy if it has rained are suggested. There are a couple of inclines, but also plenty of places to stop and relax along the way. Volunteers will drive golf carts around the property to pick up and drop off guests at various locations if necessary.
Some local Emory businesses are offering sandwiches, chips, and drinks for purchase (cash only) while supplies last.
The cost at the gate is $6 and children under 10 get in free. No pets please. For more information, call (903) 473-3104 or visit scarbroughhaven.com.
