Family Fun Planned for Grand Saline's Main Street Festival
Free family fun is on the schedule for Grand Saline’s Main Street Festival on Saturday, April 13.
Various local artists are scheduled from 10:30-11:30 a.m., then Borderline, a band from Wood County that plays classic rock, country blues, and the oldies play at noon. Jericho March will perform at 2:30 p.m. They are a Christian rock band that was founded in 2012 and plays all over East Texas. They have received many awards including Arcadia Music Award for best Christian Rock song in February, 2016; PsalmSound Studios award for “Best Song of Spring 2018”, and they were one of five finalists for East Texas Music Award in Christian category in 2016.
Flashback 5 is the headliner for the festival and perform from 4-7:30 pm. They are a top 40 cover band that plays music from the 1970’s to the 2000’s. They say their influences include Journey, Fleetwood Mac, Duran Duran, and John Cougar Melloncamp. Hailing from Northern Louisiana, they play frequently in Shreveport.
Fun for the little ones.
There will be a petting zoo from East Texas Zoo and Gator Farm, a bounce house, and lots of games. Cassandra of Crazy Chameleon Face & Body Art will create beautifully painted faces. She has been practicing her art form for five years, moving to East Texas two years ago from Ft. Worth.
Fun for the adults.
Adults can enjoy shopping with various vendors, BBQ and a variety of food caterers, chainsaw carving by Jimmy Hobbs, homemade pies by Friends of the Library, a cornhole tournament, and a raffle. Bloodline Cycles Sound Blast competition and bike show has a bike show from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. and a sound blast from 1:30-2:30 p.m.
