Summer Playground Program returns to Tyler

The Tyler Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting the Summer Playground Program again this summer at various city parks. Established in the 1950s, thousands of Tyler children have been able to participate in this fun-filled summer program.

The program will begin on Tuesday, June 5, and continues through Friday, August 3. Playground leaders will be at each location from 9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. The program is free to children, ages 6 to 12. Each location will provide breakfast and lunch along with sports, arts and crafts, games and other special events.

Park locations:

  • P.T. Cole Park, 1001 S. Vine St.
  • Emmett Scott Park, 1710 N. Confederate St.
  • Pollard Park, 810 S. Amherst Dr.

“We are excited to be able to continue to offer this program to our community,” says Ann Santana, Glass Recreation Center Supervisor. “We are so thankful to all of those who support this program. Without our sponsors and community supporters, we wouldn’t be able to make this important program happen each year.”
