Commerce, Texas, is dedicated to celebrating the native history and culture of Northeast Texas.  The local Bois d'Arc Bash began in 1985 in honor of Commerce possessing the second-largest Bois d'Arc tree in the state of Texas. The Bois d'Arc Bash celebrates Commerce's heritage with a car show, youth pageant, arts and crafts, a five-mile run, live music, a wine tasting event, and a parade. At the Texas A&M at Commerce campus, celebrate the creativity of Commerce's youth at the Performing Arts Center. Bring the kids to discover the wonders of the universe at the university's Planetarium. Gather the entire family for a day trip that combines fun and education to the Northeast Texas Children's Museum. For a day of fishing, spend the day at Cooper Lake. 3,000 acres of water stocked with largemouth bass, bluegill, channel fish, and more await you.
