Calling all Chili Connoisseur for Contest

If you think your chili could beat all comers, then it's time to put your apron on.

A good ol' fashioned Chili Cook-Off is planned for September 23 at the East Texas State Fair -- and there's still room for you and your recipe. The fair runs from September 21-30 and is held at the fairgrounds on Fair Park Drive off of West Front Street, Tyler, Texas.

Organizers expect more than 30 different teams to compete for the prize of "Grand Champion!" It's going to be a great place to hang out with live music, cold beer, and plenty of delicious chili. 

Interested in having a team of your own? Gather your friends, family, co-workers, etc and register today.

Schedule:
Sunday, September 23
Team Check-In.......... 9a.m. - noon
Judging Begins.......... 3 p.m. 
Public Tasting............ 3 p.m.  
Award Ceremony....... 4:30 p.m. 
Ray Johnston Band... 4:45 p.m.

Cost:
Public Tasting..... $5/person 
(fair admission not included)

Team Entry Fee..... $20/person

Teams planning to compete must register online, in person, or via email by filling out the form available online and sending it to eingram@etstatefair.com. Deadline to register a team is September 17
