The City of Tyler partners with local historic preservation organizations to provide educational opportunities related to historic preservation during this three-day event March 26-28. Thursday events include presentations by Diane E. Williams on historic resource surveys and Beverly Abell on downtown revitalization and the economics of historic preservation.

On Friday there are guided tours of the Azalea Trail and historic homes, a guided tour of downtown tyler featuring a half mile of history markers, a luncheon, and presentation by residential architect Norman Askins entitled "Inspired by Tradition." Other activities on Friday include presentations by Guy Giersch, historic preservation officer for the City of McKinney and Sunny Howard, development coordinator of the Texas Historical Commission, followed by a candlelight party and home tour.

On Saturday a number of tours include the Azalea Trail, historic Tyler homes, Spirits of Oakwood Walking History Cemetery, and Camp Ford Battle Reenactment.

Some events are free, others have fees ranging from $25-$125. Venues include Liberty Hall, Gallery Main Street, Willow Brook Country Club, and Carnegie Library.
