Womack Has New Album Full of East Texas Soul

Lee Ann Womack’s new album “The Lonely, The Lonesome and The Gone,” is now available for purchase. It combines country, soul, gospel, and blues — genres that tie well to her East Texas roots. Reviews to date say it’s her most personal and open work yet. She co-wrote the majority of the songs and husband Frank Liddell is the producer.

“I wanted to get out of Nashville and tap the deep music and vibe of East Texas,” Womack says. “I wanted to be sure this record had a lot of soul in it, because real country music has soul. I wanted to remind people of that.”
