The Henderson County Performing Arts Center had it's first sold out weekend since becoming an all-volunteer organization a year ago. Their current production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast Jr. enjoyed packed houses for all four opening weekend performances.
"Recent storms damaged our phone and internet systems," said Board President Mark Roberts. "Making reservations was difficult and repairs weren't completed until just prior to opening night. Then the calls poured in from the community and friends and families of this magnificent young cast."
Under the supervision of Board member Sue Oates, the multitude of costumes needed for a live Disney musical were created by a team of talented and skillful volunteers. Director Ami Hickmon and Musical Directors Ash Gimler and Hanna Gauze produced great performances from the hardworking HCPAC Youth Excellence on Stage (YES!) Program cast.
Final performances of Beauty and the Beast Jr. are Thursday through Saturday, July 25-27. There are still reservations available at 903-675-3908 and www.hcpac.org.
