Local Author's Booksigning in Tyler
Patricia Taylor Wells
On Saturday, May 19, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Tyler Public Library will be hosting local author Patricia Taylor Wells for a book signing of her newest book, Mademoíselle Renoír à París.
The book recounts Wells’ travel to Paris in the summer of 1968 to study abroad at the Sorbonne. She provides a first-hand account of the civil unrest, student protests and violence which plagued Paris at that time. The book is written to commemorate the 50th anniversary of those events and preserve that moment in time. In 2016, the first chapter of the book was submitted and became a finalist in the Historical Fiction Competition.
Wells currently resides in Tyler and is a publisher of non-fiction, fiction and poems. Her first book, Camp Tyler, A First of Its Time covers our local education facility at Camp Tyler, the first book to ever broach the subject. In 2017, she released her first novel The Eyes of the Doe, a story about loss and family set in the East Texas Piney Woods.
Copies of her books will be available for purchase at this event. For more information about this event and other programs, please visit www.TylerLibrary.com or call 903.593.READ (7323).
