Here's a sample of the book that will be made during the workshop using "Bountiful" by Authentique paper.

Winnsboro Center for the Arts hosts two special arts classes -- one for adults and one for youth -- in coming days.

The Waterfall Portfolio Workshop for adults will show participants how to do paper crafting for scrapbooking. The instructor is Bonnie Sanford.

The workshop is set for Tuesday, October 30, from noon to 3 p.m. Fee is $35. All tools are provided.

A Creative Writing class for youth between 9 and 13 years of age is set for Sunday, October 27 and Saturday, November 3. Both run from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Instructor is Maryann Miller. The cost is $60.

It's an ideal class for kids who are eager to create their own stories and want to learn some of the basics of storytelling on paper. Miller is an award-winning author and experienced workshop leader who loves to work with young people and help them explore their creativity.

The first session on October 27 will focus on story elements such as plot and pacing and characters. The participants will go home to write a story that they will bring back to the second session on November 3 where all the stories will be reviewed. Miller might even share the first story she wrote when she was 12 years old.

Winnsboro Center for the Arts is at located at 200 Market Street.
