Relax with a Night of Jazz

Tickets are on sale now for "A Night of Jazz" with Maryah McHam and Martyn Popey at OS2 Pub in downtown Marshall, Texas, on Friday, November 9, at 6 p.m.

The audience will enjoy the great vocals, lively sounds, and up-beat rhythms of this great jazz duo while supporting Marshall Regional Arts Council and local business.

McHam’s interest in music began by singing “oldies” played on the local radio station as a child. Her love of singing and church hymns lead to a life-long career starting in college with the East Texas Baptist University Concert Choir and more currently singing across the United States and through Quebec, Trinidad and Russia. Her inspiration comes from female vocalists Rosemary Clooney, Julie London, Doris Day and Ella Fitzgerald.

Popey’s interest in music began as a teenager with rockabilly and 1950s rock ‘n’ roll. He traveled the UK and Europe regularly, performing at live venues, on TV, and in recording sessions. After living in London for seven years, Popey has returned to East Texas. He plays guitar with the big band The Sounds of Swing and performs solo jazz guitar in the style of Joe Pass.
