Wide Array of Music Hits the Stage in Mineola

The Lake Country Symphonic Band in Mineola presents its fall concert, part of its 2017 season, October 8 and 10.
Titled “Musical Grab Bag,” the performance features music ranging from Russian classics, American Celtic Punk Rock, marches, the Olympics, and cartoon favorites. In addition, euphonium section leader Eduardo Santoy presents a soaring selection for euphonium and band called "All Those Endearing Young Charms."
Also appearing with the band is 10-year-old Amedea D'Angelo singing the jazz standard "Fly Me to the Moon," a big hit for Frank Sinatra in 1964.
The Sunday concert will be at 2 p.m., and the Tuesday time is 7:30 p.m. The box office will open one hour prior and the doors 30 minutes prior to performances. Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for 11 and under. Reservations are recommended and may be made by calling the box office at 903.569.2300.
The Lake Country Symphonic Band is made up of musicians of all ages from the area. Members come from Lindale, Gladewater, Big Sandy, Mineola, Quitman, Alba, Sulphur Springs and Tyler, as well as other towns in the region. The band performs four concerts in its season, with each concert being done twice to accommodate its growing audience.
The band performs all its concerts at the historic Select Theater, 114 North Johnson Street, Mineola.
