Rockwall, Texas, native Erin Kinsey released her new single “Just Drive” August 6. She wrote the song with Michael August and Josh Ronen. She says the idea for the song sparked when she thought of combining country lyrics with the gritty sound of a pop rock Paramore song. It’s about getting away from it all by getting in the car with a significant other and “just drive."

Kinsey began singing and playing guitar at the young age of 11. For the last several years, she and her band are performing in venues across Texas and beyond.

Kinsey is also writing with various notable Nashville songwriters, working on her artistry, and is often found playing songwriter rounds at the historic Bluebird Café and The Listening Room Cafe in Nashville.

In 2020, Kinsey co-wrote, “Pink," an inspiring song to raise awareness for breast cancer and to imagine a day when pink is just another color. It became the anthem for Susan G. Komen breast cancer foundation and was recorded by the legendary Dolly Parton along with Monica, Jordin Sparks, Rita Wilson and Sara Evans.

Kinsey made her Grand Ole Opry debut this past October on the “Opry Goes Pink” show with a huge lineup supporting the fight against breast cancer. She and “Pink” cowriter Victoria Shaw sang the song during that show with Rita Wilson, a breast cancer survivor herself. Jodi Marr also contributed to the writing of “Pink.”

See Kinsey live in concert at 6 p.m. August 21 at Southern Junction Nightclub in Royse City and learn more about her in www.ErinKinsey.com.
