Nestled in the lakeside community of Star Harbor, artistic creativity is flourishing

through the efforts of the Star Harbor Watercolor Society. This organization numbering

almost thirty members was founded in 2005 to improve the painting skills of its members

and to stimulate public interest in watercolor art through exhibits.

Society members have entered the annual Henderson County Art Show held each April in Athens and have

won ribbons including Best of Show for their work each year. The art scene in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area has become familiar with this group of artists through their winning entries in the State Fair of Texas in Dallas as well as juried pieces in multiple prestigious art shows. Well over 100 original watercolor paintings will be displayed. This event includes

delicious refreshments, live music, painting demonstrations, and the opportunity to meet

the artists.
