Here’s a real sight for beer lovers! The new Fredonia Brewery covers a wall at its location in Nacogdoches with a very unique 2,400-plus beer can collection. On loan from the John Allerding family of Ohio, the collection started in 1959 is displayed behind a glass wall in the tap room. It really is a fun attraction to check out while enjoying a pint of Fredonia Brewery beer.
Fredonia Brewery is Nacogdoches' first micro brewery. They brew on a 15 barrel brew house and have four 30 barrel fermenters. Want to know how beer is made? They plan to add a tour soon. The downside is that it’s only opened from 2 to 10 p.m. on Saturdays.
The name originates from the Fredonia Rebellion and the Fredonia Republic 1826-1827, which was the first breaths of Texas. Its motto bears this out: "Brewed with the independent spirit that created Texas."
Fredonia also has a beautiful tap room that is surrounded by local tongue-and-groove yellow pine. The bar has a massive timber frame made from local yellow pine beams. The bar top is made from black walnut that was struck by lighten in Nacogdoches County. The taproom extends out onto a covered patio and beer garden. Enjoy sipping a cold one on the patio or under one of the many pergolas in the beer garden.
We have 6 flagship brews on tap year round and some limited and seasonal brews throughout the year. We have a brew for everyone. We even have Root Beer for the non-drinkers and kiddos.
