Marshall, Texas, celebrates its 39th FireAnt Festival Saturday, October 9. The festival features a parade, an outdoor concert around the steps of the historic Harrison County courthouse, festival food, and unique product vendors.

Activities for all ages include children’s inflatables, TourDeFireAnt long distance bike ride, FireAnt 5K, Toddler Trot, Kids K, FireAnt Festival parade, Diaper Derby, Gurning contest, Chicken Chunkin’ contest, Kids Dance Contest, FireAnt Cupcake Battle, and a Scavenger Hunt. The one-day event is sponsored by the Greater Marshall Chamber of Commerce. Go to for information.
