Turkey legs are a favorite at Taste of the Fair, which opens May 20.

East Texas State Fair is hosting Taste of the Fair opens May 20 and runs the last two weekends in May 2021.

Times are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 20 through Sunday, May 23 and Thursday, May 27 through Sunday, May 30.

The event features many of Tyler’s fair food favorites including fair classics such as corn dogs, funnel cakes, and turkey legs, as well as local favorites like the tamale slammer, volcano fries, smoked meatloaf, peach puppies, elote, and more.

All food is prepared fresh, but served to-go only. The fairgrounds are equipped with hand sanitizing stations and staff to ensure that visitors are adhering to social distancing standards.

Tickets are not required for the event as there is no admission charge and parking is free.

Food stands will be open prior to the Tyler High, Tyler Legacy, and other graduations, but fair officials advise that outside food is not allowed into Christus Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium.
