The 105th annual East Texas State Fair is taking place September 24 to October 3 at the Rose Complex in Tyler.
Thrilling attractions, contests, exhibits, livestock shows, carnival rides, games, and legendary fair food are all returning to the fair grounds this year despite the dual challenges of COVID-19 and construction.
The fair's board of directors determined the event can safely take place this year for those who choose to attend. The fair encourages individuals to evaluate their own risk of exposure. Preventive measures such as vaccination, mask wearing, social distancing, and regular hand washing are recommended but not enforced.
The Fair has partnered with UT Health East Texas to provide numerous hand sanitizing and hand washing stations throughout the fairgrounds.
The City of Tyler has broken ground on a new convention center, so the Harvey Convention Center and a large portion of the parking lot will not be available this year.
Fair organizers have remained flexible and creative to develop a plan that will allow the event to continue at full capacity and offer the same level of entertainment that the community has come to expect.
Entertainment includes live music performances and a variety of shows featuring Sea Lion Splash!, The Nerveless Nocks, the Brothers Walker, and Vocal Trash. The fair also offers a petting zoo and creative arts and commercial exhibits. New this year is a Go Texan! market with certified Texas agricultural products.
Registration is now open for contest participants and exhibitors. Tickets for the general public are also now on sale at etstatefair.com.
ETSF is operated by The Park of East Texas, a private nonprofit organization located at 2112 W. Front Street in Tyler. Call (903) 597-2501 for information and hours of operation or click HERE for the fair's visitor information.
