RUS-April 2

Winnsboro Center for the Arts (WCA) is rescheduling Renaissance Under the Stars from September 25 to April 2, 2022, due to the rising COVID cases in the community.

A spring date “under the stars” is expected to be even more magical with Renaissance festivities at the Winnsboro Civic Center. Attendees are encouraged to wear Renaissance attire as they gather for dinner and appetizers and fun activities including an outdoor marketplace, ale and wine garden, fortune teller, and other 16th century entertainment.

Rescheduled along with all the other activities is a concert by Emmy and Grammy-nominated Celtic fiddler, Máiréad Nesbitt, one of the founding members of the world-renowned group Celtic Woman. As the featured violin soloist on 11 Celtic Woman albums, each title achieved the coveted #1 slot on the Billboard World Music Chart.

Nesbitt has played at the White House and the Pentagon for four U.S. presidents. Among the famous venues and symphony concert halls she has performed in worldwide, highlights include Carnegie Hall, Radio City Music Hall, Red Rocks Colorado, and Hyde Park.

This is not her first visit to Winnsboro, having performed on The Bowery Stage at Winnsboro Center for the Arts for two shows in September 2019.

While Nesbitt’s performance is likely to be the hit of the evening, many other activities will keep guests entertained. An online silent auction takes place in the weeks leading up to Renaissance Under the Stars and wraps up during the event, and a live auction takes place as well.

Ticket prices range from $25, with sponsorships available up to $5,000. On the low end of the pricing spectrum, guests can enjoy the outdoor Renaissance market and garden from 5-7 p.m. Other levels kick in from 7-10 p.m. including dinner and entertainment, special seating, complimentary goblets and mead.

Proceeds from the event benefit the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Winnsboro Center for the Arts and their new performing arts building. The new venue will host a wide range of community activities from concerts and theater to youth camps and wedding receptions. Find all ticket levels and more information on
