Eat, Play, Watch At Schulman’s Movie Bowl Grille

"All-in-One Family Fun" is the motto for Schulman’s Movie Bowl Grille with locations in Corsicana, Sherman, Bay City, and coming soon to Waco. These unique multiplex facilities feature restaurants, bars, arcades, and the latest big screen movies.

The Sherman location also features bowling, axe throwing, rock wall climbing, a ropes course full of obstacles, and a zipline that soars over the whole arcade.

The Corsicana location is home to a large arcade full of 42 games that range from old-school to virtual, including prize games.

On top of all the fun and games, each location has Billy’s Grill & Bar providing guests with a large menu of pizzas, burgers, sandwiches, entrees, kids meals, weekly specials, and desserts. Some of the meals that stand out include Billy’s Bacon Cheeseburger, a thick patty served on a butter-toasted bun with all the trimmings including coarse thick-cut hickory smoked bacon to top it all off; Boardwalk White Pizza, a sauceless pizza topped with olive oil and Italian seasoned herbs, parmesan cheese, ricotta and mozzarella cheese; and the Heart Attack dessert, a large chocolate-chip cookie baked in a skillet topped with ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and a cherry on top.

Aside from the bowling, grille, and arcades, Schulman’s is a movie theater, showing all the latest films. Inside the theaters, guests enjoy reclining back in spacious seats to enjoy the movie experience at its fullest.

The history behind these theaters goes back four generations into the Schulman family. Founded by Abraham Schulman back in 1910, what started off as a passion became a family business with the first Schulman Theatre  in Houston. From there they opened the Palace Theater in Bryan, Texas, a premiere facility offering both Vaudeville stage shows and new "talking" films.  The family opened several drive-in theaters in Texas during the 1960s, the last of which closed in 1984. The current owner is Mark Schulman who was instrumental in the development of the Schulman Theaters Lost Pines 8 in Bastrop, the first facility of its kind in the motion picture industry to combine movies, bowling, and interactive amusements. From there, the concept for Schulman’s Movie Bowl Grille was born.

Plans are underway to begin construction on another location in Waco, a new theater that will be the largest of Schulman’s facilities. It will feature 30 bowling lanes, arcade games, laser tag, ropes course, virtual reality games, axe throwing, ping pong, pool tables, and more.
