When Darrin Morris Band released “Country to the Bone” to Texas country radio this summer, the guys hoped fans would embrace the song’s theme which promoted a country way of living and a love for the USA. The song has resonated with both fans and radio stations. This week it sits strong in the No. 10 spot on the Texas Regional Radio Report’s Top 100 chart and is the band’s second consecutive Top 10 single.
“To say we are excited about having our second Top 10 song is an understatement,” said lead singer Darrin Morris. “We’ve been working at this for a long time – honing our songwriting craft, tightening our live shows, and playing as many shows as we can. This is validation for us that hard work and faith pays off.”
In 2012, Darrin Morris Band started playing shows together in the Upper East Side of Texas, beginning from their home base in Gilmer, Texas. Over the past eight years, they have taken their energetic live show across the state and beyond. This year, despite the pandemic, the band has accomplished many milestones which include earning four Texas Country Music Award nominations. The 2020 TCMA Award show will be held at Billy Bob’s Texas in the Fort Worth Stockyards on November 15.
“As crazy as 2020 has been, we have been blessed. It is so humbling, and we don’t take any of this for granted,” Morris added . “We thank our amazing, loyal fans and Texas country radio for believing in us and supporting what we’re doing.”
